This week the team has been working hard behind the scenes to help clients secure new homes, negotiate better deals, and get ready for the months ahead. From first-time buyers to remortgages, here is what everyone has been up to.
Colin
Colin has been busy helping first-time buyers snap up properties at a discount. He helped one client purchase their new home for £5,000 below the asking price and negotiated a £2,000 discount for another buyer on a property that had only been on the market for four days.
He has also been working with a Sheffield estate agent to renegotiate a purchase price following the results of a level two survey.
Looking ahead to next week, Colin is heading off on holiday, but not before wrapping up a few more key cases. These include remortgaging a client so they can buy their ex-partner out of their previous marital home, helping a first-time buyer purchase a new-build shared ownership property, and guiding another couple through the purchase of a fascinating property that was built sometime between 1790 and 1820. You do not see many like that.
Sarah
Sarah has been focused on a couple of trickier mortgage cases this week. She has been liaising with lenders and solicitors to keep things moving and ensure everyone involved has the latest updates. Sometimes these things take persistence, but Sarah is always on it.
Lara
This week has been a tale of two client types for Lara. On one side, lots of first-time buyers have come in for a DIP (Decision in Principle), giving them the green light to start viewing homes. On the other side, many returning clients are reviewing their existing mortgage deals. Lara has been looking at the best options available, whether it makes sense to stick with their current lender or switch to something more competitive.
Amy
Amy has been reviewing reports for all our clients with fixed-rate mortgages that are due to end in the coming months. If that is you, expect an email soon with everything you need to know.
She also had a visit from our Barclays rep this week, who came in to demo their new system. On top of that, a lovely hamper was delivered to the office, and the big question now is how we divide up the chocolate fairly.
With Colin’s diary jam-packed before his holiday, Amy has also been helping manage his inbox to make sure no client gets left waiting.
Whether you are buying your first home, reviewing your rate, or looking for guidance in a more complicated situation, we are here to help you every step of the way.
Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
